Missed your trash pickup?
Don’t worry, it's a common occurrence amongst residents to forget to put out their trash bins for regularly scheduled weekly pickup. This means, however, that depending on the size of trash bins you have, and the amount of waste you produce every week, your trash is likely overflowing.
If you live in Park City or Summit County, one option is to call Republic Services directly at (435) 615-8311. Unfortunately, larger trash collection companies are not always responsive and difficult to get a hold of. In that case, you may want to call a local junk hauler or dumpster rental service to pick up your trash.
If you’re in the midst of a home cleanout or threw a party the night before and your bins are simply filled to the brim, you may want to opt for renting a temporary dumpster or a local junk hauler. Most of these companies offer same-day service and while they’ll cost you upfront, they’re a convenient option if you missed your trash pickup date.
Many dumpster rental companies offer bins ranging from 10-yards up to 40-yards. For a simple weekly trash pickup, this may be way too much bin space.
However, some companies (like EazyBins) offer 3-yard dumpster rentals which are suitable for most residential properties and are much more affordable than their larger counterparts. Prices for 3-yard dumpsters range from $100-$300 depending on the amount of trash and tonnage.
On the other hand, local junk haulers simply come to your property and haul the missed trash or items immediately.
If you have a truck or trailer of your own, you may not need to rely on a local dumpster service to handle your trash. If you have the typical residential 40, 60, or 90-gallon cans, you may easily load them in your pickup truck or trailer and take them to the local landfill.
There are two major landfills in the Summit County area:
Three Mile Canyon Landfill
6550 West Three Mile Canyon Road
Coalville, UT 84017
2140 North Henefer Landfill Road
Henefer, UT 84033
